  i think i posted on here that i went to the memorial last week.

  my wife's dad has been a jw for over 50 years and has never missed a memorial before.

  he has been getting sicker and sicker and his wife the star pioneer still does nothing for him.

  That is heart breaking to read so to actually be there with the poor man had to be hell.It isn't just JW's my grandmother was a life long catholic and she was dying but held on till the priest got there to give her last rites then as soon as she got them them she just gave in and died.But I do agree the the JW's are a heartless cult.

  Do the JW's visit your FIL at home???Or is it out of sight out of mind???

  I think I will go. Last year and year before I was studying so this year I can go and use my brain plus will make JW family happy and will be so full etc that I shouldn't get bothered as another congreation has the hall right after so quick out.Oh yes on Easter I am going to my old church(haven't been there for 14yrs Lutheran)just because. And can compare as I have no plans to go to either after that.Maybe watch some religious shows that afternoon(kidding)and just O D on religion!!!!!!!!!!!!

  this video series on you-tube is one of the better ones explaining the decisive corruption of the organization.

  and how people are treated by the organization when they are just simply seeking the truth.. its bit long winded at times but the speakers get directly to the point and makes things quite clear.. the people commenting are all ex-jws of course but they were very close to the higher levels of the organization.. have a watch and listen and see what you think for yourself.......hta.

  Good news ,My son has researched the witnesses on his own !

  over the past three years i have dropped a few points about why i am no longer attending meetings .

  nothing in depth .. i did stress alot of it was due to never feeling good enough , the emotional pressure to follow organizational rules over my own conscience and my personal objection of how education is discouraged .

  i also have shared with my kids their whole life that when i was raised ,armegeddon fears were rammed down my throat ,something i refused to do to them .. i have worried excessivly how my older two sons would respond to me once they realized i am never going back .. well my son came home for a visit to go out and celebrate my birthday this weekend !

  I am so happy for you and also Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!My husbands is Monday and I am taking him out to dinner tonight and bought cards etc. Wonderful to be able to celebrate again!!!!I liked what you have been saying over time to your kids and I am going to start doing that with my JW daughter and hope that some day she will do what your son did. THINK!!!!!!!!!!

  Well sister I was studying with preached about all the virtues of JW's and to follow them etc and turned around in the next breath and told me to lie to husband about going out in service.That is #1 thing he hates about JW's well and the shunning and the fact it is a cult.That is 2 faced to me.Also how they smile at people at the hall and then talk terrible about them while out in service.

  IF YOU STILL READ THE BIBLE WHAT VERSION DO YOU READ??

  i have my jw bible but also have the good news bible that was used at the lutheran church i went to for about 8 yrs back in the 80's.. one (jw)is hard to read and understand some of the books and the (good news)other is to easy and leaves somethings out, well the jw one does to.. .

  Thanks so much for the web sites and the different bibles. I will start with those online and some from the library. I am retired and on fixed income(aren't we all)and only buy books that I really like and want to have on my shelf.
